THE FILTERING PROCESS

Grooved, compressed plastic disc rings provide deep filtration. As dirty water is pumped into the filter and the pressure outside the filter increases, the water pressure presses the rings tightly together. The grooved rings on the disc are staggered to form a three-dimensional network of captured particles. The number of intersections on each groove depends on the filtering level. Turbulence and a large number of intersections in the changing path create an environment where particles are eventually captured. This design not only filters the dirty water on the outer surface of the cylindrical disc filter, but also the entire depth of each ring groove. The result is a larger, more effective filtration area (compared to a screen filter), more debris can be captured, and clean water flows out of the filter.
